Developers at Ubisoft announced a new game-mode coming to Far Cry 5 earlier this week in the form of Arcade. In this mode, players will have access to solo/co-op adventures and PvP maps created by the community. These maps will be created using an in-game editor with assets available from past Far Cry titles, as well as several other Ubisoft titles (Assassin’s Creed, Watchdogs, etc.) At launch, there will also be a few developer created maps for players to enjoy. In addition to the initial assets available at launch, each time a new DLC is released for the game, those assets will become available in the editor. User-generated content has been very successful at keeping players engaged in other titles such as GTA5, making this a very logical market for Ubisoft’s open-world shooter to tap into. Far Cry 5 releases March 27th, 2018.
Rainbow Six Takes Aim at Hate Speech
This week, the developers of Rainbow Six Siege detailed early plans to deal with one of the game’s major problems, chat toxicity. Specifically taking aim at hate speech, Ubisoft announced that it will start banning players for using racial slurs, making homophobic comments, and other forms of toxicity. These bans will vary in length by severity of the comments made, and can range from 2 days to lifetime.
Ubisoft Announces the Division 2
While it had long been rumored that teams at Ubisoft were working on The Division 2, it was made official today with the reveal of the game’s new logo. Ubisoft developers said it was a difficult decision to make as many fans had campaigned for continuous updates to the original Division, similar to Rainbow Six: Siege, however, ultimately the team decided to go with a sequel. No official release date has been set, but the Division 2 will be coming to E3 2018, so expect to find out more then.
Rumors have been swirling for weeks, but on Thursday, Treyarch released the first official teaser for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The teaser doesn’t show much other than clips from previous games and reveal the new game’s logo which is strangely ‘IIII’ instead of ‘IV’. More details will be coming at a community event on May 17th, and there will likely be footage shown at E3.

No details are available about the title other than a 2018 release date.
