Sony’s new live show PlayStation Tournaments: Evo Lounge has been announced for August 5th and 6th. The all-new event promises “exciting content and reveals” from some of the fighting games’ biggest names, including Capcom, Warner Bros., Arc System Works, and SNK.
Logitech has announced it is working with Tencent Games to produce a new cloud gaming handheld device. Though pricing and hardware details have not been revealed, the device should be available later this year and will focus on cloud gaming services including Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia’s GeForce Now.
Riot’s League of Legends Fighting Game Will Be Free-to-Play – IGN.com
Riot Games has confirmed that their upcoming League of Legends fighting game, codenamed Project L, will be free-to-play and include monetization that “will be respectful of both your time and your wallet.” Project L’s executive producer, Tom Cannon, also confirmed that the team is finishing up work on the game’s core mechanics and is moving on to competitive play and social systems.
Apex Legends’ first map gets its biggest update yet – Polygon.com
The new season of Apex Legends will kick off on August 9th and will feature a rework of the game’s original map. In addition to a host of changes to the “Reforged” King’s Canyon map, the season will feature a new Legend, Vantage, a sniper character with high mobility, and a pet bat named Echo to help her out of tight situations.
