EA honors John Madden with a trio of covers for Madden NFL 23 – VentureBeat.com

After a 20-year absence, NFL Coach John Madden will once again appear on the cover art for Madden NFL 23. Madden passed away in 2021 at age 85. To celebrate the series’ namesake, EA will offer three different covers for the title showing Madden at different points in his career. The title will also feature two versions of the legendary coach leading two All-Madden teams, along with remastered clips from his broadcasting days.

 

Epic returns to in-person Fortnite competition with a November event – TheVerge.com

Epic Games has announced they will be hosting the first in-person Fortnite competition since 2019’s Fortnite World Cup. The FNCS Invitational 2022 will take place on November 12th and 13th at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina. No plans have been announced for a World Cup 2023, but hope is high that this event will mark a return to in-person competition.

 

Modern Warfare 2 worldwide reveal set for June 8, may be coming to Steam – Polygon.com

Infinity Ward and Activision announced that the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will occur on June 8th. The game is a direct sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and is planned for launch this October. While Call of Duty titles on PC have been exclusive to Activision’s Battle.net storefront since 2018’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, there are indications the franchise might be making a return to the Steam platform with this release.

 

Summer Game Fest lineup released – GamesIndustry.biz

Summer Game Fest organizers have released the lineup for this year’s event, set for June 9th. This will be the third year for the event, which started in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions that interrupted the annual E3 showcase. Expect to see showcases and announcements from 31 companies, including Activision, PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and many others, with the possibility of more being announced at a later date.
