Disney, Codemasters, and Jagex veterans launch indie publishing label The CoLab – GameDeveloper.com

Mark Faulkner, former director at Jagex, along with Darren Newnham and John Lewis, has been selected to lead a new indie publishing label in the UK called The CoLab. The label hopes to work with developers to foster a “supportive environment that promotes long-term relationships.”

Yoko Shimomura to receive BAFTA Fellowship – GamesIndustry.biz

Yoko Shimomura, a Japanese composer known for her work on musical scores for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 15, was awarded a Fellowship from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip praised Yoko for being a “pioneer in video game music” whose work “will continue to resonate for generations.”

 

2025’s Tokyo Indie Game Summit is the biggest yet, attracting 23,000 attendees – GamesIndustry.biz

The Tokyo Indie Game Summit held in early March this year saw a huge upswing in attendees, more than doubling their numbers from previous years. Over 200 indie titles were on display for the 23,000 visitors; events included discussion panels, game trailers, and previews.
