Citing concern about the potential negative impact of competition in cloud gaming, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has voted to block the $68.7 billion Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Microsoft’s vice chair and president, Brad Smith, expressed disappointment at the outcome, but stated the company remains “fully committed to this acquisition and will appeal.”
