Midia Research released their predictions for the global gaming industry, including a 4.6% increase in 2026. In 2025, Midia expects an increase in hardware revenues and an influx of global players from Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

 

College football players will be paid more to appear in College Football 26 – Polygon.com

EA Sports will now offer college football players $1,500 to license their name, image, and likeness (NIL) in the upcoming College Football 26. A substantial increase from player payments the year before, EA is projected to spend $16.5 million to secure player NIL rights this year.

 

Monster Hunter Wilds debuts at No.3 on revenue charts for February 2025 – GamesIndustry.com

Surpassed only by Fortnite and the Call of Duty series, Monster Hunter Wilds locks in the No. 3 spot for overall revenue in February in a chart released by Newzoo despite releasing on the last day of the month. New releases Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Civilization 7 snag the No. 6 and No. 7 spots, respectively.

 

PlayStation forms new first-party studio Dark Outlaw Games | GamesIndustry.biz

Jason Blundell, formerly of Activision, has been selected to lead Dark Outlaw Games, a newly formed first-party PlayStation studio by Sony. The studio is already underway working on their first project; Blundell hopes to grow a cohesive team as they move forward.
